New paper in Dalton Transactions
Salen-type nickel(II) complexes in distinct selective hydrosilylation of alkenes under mild conditions

Our new paper Salen-type nickel(II) complexes in distinct selective hydrosilylation of alkenes under mild conditions has been accepted for publication in Dalton Transactions. Bartłomiej, the first author, describes this research:
Our latest study explores salen-type nickel(II) complexes as efficient catalysts for the selective hydrosilylation of alkenes under mild conditions. This simple and cost-effective system offers exciting potential for sustainable catalysis.
The article can be found at DOI 10.1039/D4DT03257H.

Bartłomiej's internship results appreciated
Dr. Hiroki Shigehisa gives an interview

Recently, Bartłomiej (Bartek) Szarłan completed two one-month internship stays at Musashino University, Tokyo, Japan. His work under the supervision of Dr. Hiroki Shigehisa concerned annulations catalysed by cobalt hydride complexes as a part of the research ongoing in the group .
The results have already ben published in ACS Catalysis (2024, 14, 15514-15520) and now Dr. Shigehisa talks about working with Bartek in an interview (link).
This collaboration not only allowed Bartłomiej to gain valuable international experience but also laid the groundwork for potential future joint projects. Strengthening academic ties with leading research centers worldwide remains a priority for our group, and we look forward to further opportunities for collaboration with Musashino University. We congratulate Bartłomiej on this achievement and are excited about the possibilities that this partnership may bring in the future!

A new paper accepted in the Journal of Catalysis
E-selective hydroboration of alkynes catalyzed by 3N-donor Schiff-base cobalt(II) complex

We are pleased to announce the publication of our new article in the Journal of Catalysis. This work stems from our group's research on cobalt-catalyzed hydrofunctionalization and focuses on a new application of a versatile cobalt complex with a Schiff base ligand. The research for this publication was carried out over almost 18 months and covered numerous catalytic trials, optimisation and isolation of 20 products.
Congratulations to all co-authors!

Jakub in the finals of 36OrgChem!
- An organic chemistry communication contest

Our PhD student, Jakub Robaszkiewicz, has been selected as a finalist in the European 36Org-Chem Challenge. This competition is aimed at young scientists working in the broad field of organic chemistry. On December 2nd, in Katowice, he will present the findings of his research on the Negishi cross-coupling reaction catalyzed by a simple cobalt-based system during the conference. The presentation will be evaluated by a jury of experts from the field of organic chemistry and must be delivered within 360 seconds. He will be competing against doctoral candidates from Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, and Germany.
We wish him good luck!
