Sustainable synthesis of hydrosilanes and alkoxysilanes in a sequential one-pot olefin hydrosilylation and dehydrogenative coupling with alcohol under phenoxyiminato cobalt(II) catalysis
The article has been published by the British Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). It describes phenoxyiminato complexes of cobalt(II) that are able to catalyse hydrosilylation and dehydrogenative coupling of silanes with alcohol both as a separate processes, and sequantially, in a one-pot fashion.
It is increasingly recognised that complexes of base metals for prospective replacement of platinum-group metal catalysts have to not only exhibit sufficiently high activity, but also be economically appealing. To accommodate for the latter, new candidates with simple, affordable, easy to efficiently synthesise ligands are developed. Phenoxyiminato, or salicyladiminato, ligands are a great example of ones that can be obtained in a single-step condensation reaction.
